Workshop Topics

What we cover.

Each workshop is built around translating research into practice — what the evidence actually shows, what it means for how you move, and what you can do about it starting today.

The Capacity Principle

An introduction to Reframe Aging’s core framework — why capacity is the variable that matters most as we age, how to assess where you are, and how to build the reserve needed to do what matters most in the decades ahead.

Strength Training for Healthy Aging

Muscle strength declines 8–17% per decade after 40, accelerating with age. This workshop covers what the evidence actually says about strength training across the lifespan — and what to do about it starting now.

Getting Up From the Floor

One of the strongest predictors of longevity and independence, and one of the Geriatric Functional Milestones most people never deliberately practice. Practical skills for confidence and capability on the ground.

Balance & Fall Resilience

Falls are largely preventable. This workshop covers fall risk assessment, reactive balance, vestibular health, and the behavioral and environmental factors that keep people confident and capable on their feet.

Osteoporosis & Exercise

Safe loading strategies, bone health principles, and movement guidance for individuals managing osteoporosis or osteopenia — with a focus on building capability and confidence after a diagnosis.

Mobility for Lifelong Independence

Joint mobility and range of motion protect your options as you age. This workshop covers how mobility changes, what you can do about it, and how to preserve the movement that keeps life expansive.

Healthspan vs. Lifespan

The distinction that changes everything — what the longevity research actually shows, how to think about the Centenarian Decathlon framework, and what it means to invest in the decades you want rather than just the years you get.

For Clinicians: Geriatric Functional Milestones

An educational session for physical therapists, physicians, and allied health professionals on the GFM framework, proactive movement screening, and building practice models that address the full continuum of aging care.
